Chocolate Glazed Almond Horns

Ingredients

    • ¾ cup of Almond paste.

    • 2 Egg whites, lightly beaten.

    • ⅓ cup of Sugar.

    • 3 tbsp of Almond meal/flour

    • 1 cup of Sliced almonds

    • 2 tbsp of heavy cream

    • 2 tbsp of butter cut into cubes.

    • 2 tsp of corn syrup

    • 4 oz of semisweet chocolate

    Directions

      1. Break Almond paste into almond-sized chunks into a bowl or stand mixer.

      2. Add the sugar and 3 tbsp of the egg whites.

      3. Mix on medium-low speed until a sticky dough is formed.

      4. Add the almond flour and mix until it is fully mixed into the dough.

      5. Pour the sliced almonds into a shallow dish or a plate.

      6. Roll the dough into balls.

      7. Roll the dough in the almonds into a log.

      8. Place the log (shaped like a U) onto a parchment lined baking sheet.

      9. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees

      10. Brush the cookies with the egg whites

      11. Bake for 15 to 18 min or until the bottoms are golden brown.

      12. Let the horns cool.

      1. Combine the cream, butter, and corn syrup in a small saucepan

      2. Stir over a medium-low fire until melted and smooth

      3. remove from the fire and add the chocolate (the residual heat should be enough to melt the chocolate)

      1. Quickly dip the cooled horns ends into the glaze and return them to the baking shit.

      2. Let the horns sit until the glaze sets.
